Cinco de Mayo - Day 2
- Find me in France

Slept a full night. 9pm – 8am. I did NOT want to wake up but do feel almost human today. I totally forgot it was my birthday. Weird to be in another country, on another time zone where you don’t know anyone on your birthday.

The company finding my apartment connected me with someone who moved here three years ago from Los Angeles. He has been really helpful. We had lunch today and he walked me around showing me the “downtown” area of Lyon. It was really a nice day. And the area was beautiful. The France I was looking for.
I have a feeling that each day will bring an entirely different emotion for a while. What no one tells you when you move to a country where you know no one and do not speak the language is that you cannot prepare yourself, no matter how much you prepare yourself. You need to let each day unfold. I guest this is where the saying take it one day at a time really plays in. For now, it was a good day. I am excited for next steps, finding an apartment, meeting people, starting French classes.
Success of the day... bought my rain coat and rain shoes so this didn't happen again.
